1–2 minutes

Joy

I caught a spark of joy on a cold July

It was like a firefly in the night

A glimmer of hope for brighter days

I felt a rush of excitement

Through my chest

Felt butterflies in my stomach

And walked with a slight hop in my stride

I waved at the neighbour

And smiled at a stranger

Spotted a tiny red bird

And hummed to its song

The clouds were grey

But in my eyes

It was all yellow

I caught a strangers scent

It thrilled my nostrils

I reveled in that moment

Oh what a happy day

I thought to myself

As I wrapped that moment

Inside my heart

To remember what joy feels like
